The "Give Back Group" along with the "Quick Fix It Group" met last Monday to work on a quilting project for a local charity and help those residents in need of mending.

Tom Hanford, a musical storyteller joined us on Friday to take us on a very enjoyable walk down memory lane. We learned about New York history and culture as Tom entertained us with his violin, guitar, and harmonica. The afternoon of New York trivia was topped off with pretzels and deli mustard. Mmmmmmmm! We love New York!
Frankie Keene was with us for our Mardi Gras dance party. All the residents in attendance enjoyed a night of dancing, socializing and fun! Our chef provided his signature wings for everyone to enjoy and they were delicious! We started our time of fasting with an evening of celebration and fun.
Our Valentine's Day celebration was a huge success! Love was certainly in the air as we danced the afternoon away. The event was so well attended that everyone met a new friend. The chocolate covered strawberries were a delicacy for all of us to enjoy and the room was beautifully decorated for the holiday.
We were delighted to have as our guests and playmates the "Natural Wonders" pre-school students who visited our assisted living residents this week. We showed our patriotism by singing the national anthem together. Students paired up with a senior buddy to do marble painting and bowling. What fun everyone had! Horses, ponies, and foals galore! With the help of Heather White, we were all able to enjoy an extravagant trip to the Therapeutic Equestrian Center in Cold Spring. Residents thoroughly enjoyed grooming the horses, as well as acknowledging how to care for all of the animals residing at the stables.
We were delighted to have a visit this summer from a local High School student, Faith Schultz, and her two baby goats. Residents were delighted to pet the sweet, curious creatures out on our patio.
What a success our recent Intergenerational Art Project was this summer! Our woodcarvers created birdhouses and picture frames for the Assisted Living residents to paint. A local Girl Scout Troop led by Ruth Green helped our residents complete the painting.
Our woodshop teacher, Dave Carrier and resident Len Weiss created beautifully engraved birdfeeders during our Wednesday morning woodcarving class recently. The feeders will be put to good use for our amazing assortment of feathered friends here at The Fountains!

Residents in our Assisted Living neighborhood enjoyed an afternoon of garden art recently. They created a beautiful mosaic stepping stone for our garden. It was a group effort, led by Jen Cross, our delightful Community Life Assistant. The project was a big success, and brought many smiles!
