Who needs to travel to Europe when we’ve got a Castle right in our own back yard? Just a jaunt down the road we headed over to Wing’s Castle where owner Toni Wing gave us the royal tour. Made of 85% recycled and repurposed items the castle is the grand masterpiece of her late husband Peter Wing. Twenty five years in the making and still growing thanks to Toni and her son, Charlie, the castle now sports a bed and breakfast where one can elect to sleep in the Dungeon or the Chamber room. Toni shared that Peter proposed this way, “I’m going to build a castle, will you marry me? “She says he left out the part that she would have to carry cement, load old bricks and live in a constant state of camping for more than three years before they could even move in to the still in progress home! We left the castle in awe of the genius of a self taught man. We headed next to a sublime lunch at a local pub called, Nooches. We all sampled too much before heading back to our community to put our feet up and contemplate our next backyard adventure!
